V-LINC - Providing Independence through Technology -

I understand and agree that I am responsible for proper handling and use of the device(s) and software loaned from Learning Independence Through Computers (LINC).

I am responsible for returning all components to LINC’s Lending Library in a timely manner. I will call prior to showing up to return software, and if I decide to return the items via mail, I will insure the package for the total replacement value listed on my loan form. Please note that you are responsible for the items until they are received by LINC. A traceable method of shipment is highly advised.

In the case of loss of a device or components, I will be held financially liable. In the event of loss, I will contact LINC at 410-659-5462 immediately.

In the case of theft, I will not be held responsible, as long as I immediately report the incident to the police and provide a copy of the police report to LINC.

If an equipment breakage or malfunction occurs, I must immediately notify LINC’s Lending Library Coordinator at 410-659-5462. I will not be held responsible for equipment breakage or malfunction that occurs during normal use as long as I report it promptly.

I understand it is illegal to copy or distribute any software loaned through LINC’s Lending Library. Upon completion of the loan period, if I have loaded borrowed software on my computer, I will remove it.

In using items from our loan library, members understand and agree that the item is provided "as-is" without warranty. In no event shall LINC be liable for any consequential, incidental, or special damages arising from the use or inability to use items borrowed.

Overdue items are assessed $1 per day per item. No new loans will be initiated until fine is paid.

An item may be re-loaned by phone for an additional month if it has not been requested by another member.

You must call to ensure that someone is available to process your loan before arriving to borrow software or hardware. We will ship items requested to you, considering you cover the cost of shipping and insurance.

Items valued over $300 may require an additional form along with a security deposit in the form of a credit card, check, or PO from an approved organization.

Failure to comply with these responsibilities will result in loss of future access to LINC’s Lending Library, in addition to applicable financial liability.
